I live in the high desert of California with my husband and our three sons. During the day, I try to homeschool our boys and work on client projects – which is a bit like herding cats — and write at night when the temperature outside is only somewhat cooler than during the day.
I love to read and that passion began in grade school. My first-grade teacher told my mom she was happy I liked to read but if I would please stop doing so during math lessons. I can’t say that the request stuck. These days I read whatever — and whenever — I like. It’s a bonus that I get to write for those who also love to read.
By the way, I’m unashamedly Christian and my writing reflects this. Don’t worry. I’m not here to preach to you. I just want to write stories that you can read without worrying about your kids looking over your shoulder and being scarred for life.
I collect fountain pens, have too many pen pals (and always looking for more), journal sporadically, create art when I can squeeze it in, and horde stationery.
Thanks for visiting my site. I hope that, in this small piece of the interwebs, I can offer a respite from the busyness of life. Here at the Picayune Pen, you’ll find me pushing back the virtual with fountain pens, paper, handwritten notes, and a lot of storytelling.
